Readipop Academy is proud two announce two exciting music and new media opportunities this Christmas.
For budding musicians, singers and songwriters we're running a 'Record your own Christmas Hit' session, on Monday 22 December.
On Tuesday 23 December we'll be running a 'Music Video' workshop where participants will be given the chance to film, direct, and star in their on music video.
The workshops are priced at £49 each, or £89 if you want to attend both sessions.
Write and Record your own Christmas Hit
Date: Monday 22 December 2008
Times: 10am – 4.30pm

In this session you'll work with experienced music producers to write and record your own alternative Christmas song. You'll get to spend the day in the recording studio, learning different recording tips and techniques, you'll also get to perform, record your instruments, sing, and have a go at producing your tracks using Logic Pro.
During the workshop you will:
Compose your own Christmas song
Record your instrument, or voice
Learn about the recording process
Understand the roles of different instruments in the studio
Get lots of hints and tips on Song writing & Composition
Sequence & Sample beats and breaks
Make a Music Video

In the Music Video workshop we'll be making a video to accompany our newly recorded alternative Christmas hit. You'll spend the day taking different roles both in front and behind of the camera. You'll get to storyboard your own music video, star in it, learn about camera techniques, post production techniques, film and edit, all in one day! You don't need to have been involved in making the music to get involved in this opportunity, perhaps you're a budding director, or want to be in front of the camera?
During the Workshop you will:
Help to storyboard your own Music Video
Film your video
Learn about different post production techniques & editing
Learn about the filming process
Gain an insight and try different roles when filming

All Readipop’s tutors are experienced, gigging musicians and media professionals with over 15 years experience of running music projects. In the past Readipop have run workshops for WOMAD, BBC Blast, V Festival, The Music Industry Association, Goldsmiths College London, Academy of Contemporary Music, and many others. All tutors have CRB checks in place. You bring the enthusiasm – we bring the experience!
The workshops and gig will take place at Reading’s premier music facility Plug'n'Play Studios www.plugnplaystudios.com.
All participants will get a copy of the finished CD/DVD to take away with them.
