Charitable aims

Readipop creates innovative arts projects that aim to challenge and inspire people.

Readipop aims to promote the development of the arts and in particular music for the benefit of the local community by providing studio space and facilities and by organising events and activities which improve public access to the arts and promote understanding and learning about the creative and technical processes involved in the creation of music.

Our guiding principles

Challenge and inspire

It shouldn’t be easy (or we wouldn’t be needed), creative solutions for problems, creating high quality work that speaks for itself.

Originality

Individual expression, new ways of doing things, bespoke projects, one size does not fit all!

Learning through creativity

Learning skills to achieve creative goals…

Professional artists, working professionally

Experienced people, good role models, reflective practice and continual professional development. Working safely. Practicing artists balancing personal creative work with education and community.

Community

Respecting and valuing the input of participants, volunteers, artists and others, being a responsible member of our local community, professional and artistic communities.

Our organisation:

Artists led

Trustees and core staff should be practicing artists or active within the creative community.

Working with professional artists

Readipop’s tutors and project leaders should be active in their field. Readipop will generally work in partnership with part-time freelance tutors and be flexible in order facilitate their creative practice.

Compact and efficient structure

Readipop aims to be managed by a small part-time core team in order to keep core costs low. We will aim to meet a significant part of core costs from earned income, memberships and donations to reduce the burden on project funds and to avoid bidding for projects purely to support the core. Project activity will fund any additional required staffing costs.
