This project focuses on local cultural heritage from Reading and the surrounding area. This will include stories collected about local cinemas, reminiscence about import local cultural events and venues and the history of the underground and otherwise unknown aspects of Reading’s cinematic, photographic and literary history. The project is funded by Heritage Lottery Fund and is Readipop’s second project working with them.

Join Team Readipop as they unlock Reading’s rich cultural heritage.

We’re looking for a group of young, creative volunteers to devise, design and implement an arts heritage trail around Reading.

Reading On Tour will unearth the hidden stories of the people and places that shaped Reading’s cinematic, photographic and literary history. We would like your help to record, archive and share these stories, through interactive digital media.

This is a great opportunity for anyone looking to learn design skills, film editing, interview techniques, podcasting and research methods. No experience necessary, so whether you are studying for a career in the creative industries or simply passionate about the arts we would love your help.

Meetings will be on Wednesday afternoons from 4:30- 6pm at Readipop studios. Please contact Lizzy for more information on 0118 938 7156 or email admin@readipop.co.uk
