READING’S FRIENDLY HOMEGROWN MUSIC & ARTS FESTIVAL
From Friday 12th July to Sunday 14th July Caversham’s Christchurch Meadows will get down to Grammy nominees, almost 80 UK Top 40 hits, Radio 1 & 6Music staples, and a huge selection of home-grown Reading acts.
Sleeper, The Brand New Heavies and The Orb (30th Anniversary Greatest Hits Set) head up the bill for the 3 day event, and are joined by video splicing geniuses Cassetteboy vs DJ Rubbish, reggae chart toppers Musical Youth, electro punks Audio Bullys, eighties indie popsters The Primitives, The Bluetones’ frontman Mark Morriss, Jurassic 5′ Soup presents Fullee Love Collective, BBC 6Music approved new talent Ibibio Sound Machine and J.P. Bimeni & The Black Belts, future festival headliners Saltwater Sun and The Keep Cats plus local favourites Jewels Music & The Jacuzzis and The Skangsters (playing The Specials’ debut album in full). Many more to come too! In addition to the music, we’ll have Aim to Fly UK circus performances & workshops, Etsy – Reading Team’s indie market, Thames Rivercruise boat trips and much more. All profit from the festival goes to help Readipop charity’s music projects in the local area.
Site opening hours are Friday 6-11pm, Saturday 1-11pm & Sunday 1-9pm. There is no camping available on site.
